“Long time ago, after the Second World War II, there were two Ybanag men who were very close to each other. They traveled from place to place to hunt wild animals for their food.
One day, they went hunting for wild animals. They were disappointed when they returned home because they were not able to find any. On their way home, they found the footprints of a wild pig. They followed it, but while walking, one of the men was bitten by a snake, causing the other man to panic. He hurriedly begged for help and shouted ‘NATUKKAWAN! NATUKKAWAN!’ A group of men nearby helped the two Ybanag men. They stayed in the place for a few days until the group of men who helped them named the place NANUCCAUAN. This is how Barangay NANUCCAUAN got its name.”
