Long time ago, there was a poor couple who lived and earned a loving by a kaingin system. On the hill side was a thick forest and swamp and also excited in this place. When thing cleared the swamp there were plenty of fish.

            One day, when the couple was opening the swamp, they saw many leaches living in the swamp. On the particular day, the wife of the farmer bit her legs, to her surprised she shouted the word Alinta, Alinta.

            Somehow, here was a Spaniard who pass by riding on his horse going to the place where they live. Suddenly he heard the word “; Alinta” when he reaches his destination, he told his companion that he came from calintaan. From that time Spaniards name the place as “CALINTAAN” as he goes barangay CORDOVA.
