But due to its proximity to the mighty Cagayan River, the place is susceptible to flood and because of this natural calamity which often strike the place, gone were those rolling hills and instead it became a vast plain and as such the place result into a residential and agricultural area. And as a result of its conversion “Babaculu” was change to Baculud. Barangay Baculud is basically agricultural, rice, corn, and tobacco as its main product. Its residents are predominantly Roman Catholics. It has an elementary school and annex of the Amulung National High School and record show that Baculud has the highest rate in the Municipality.
