“Undergone has come and gone, TANA has sent, and future splendor the folks are experiencing now and the ages that will surely come by. The legend has to say about TANA: A long, long time ago when history was not yet written, Cagayan was a vast area of forest and prairie, hence wild animals were plentiful. There lived two hunters from different parts of this wide hunting ground.
One day, they decided to go their separate ways to hunt. Later, during their hunting trip, they would meet in the central part near a meadow and a brook where wild animals roamed and drank. It was a place best for hunting and resting. They were awed and surprised by the beautiful place they found. Far away, it was a very nice place to hunt, rest, or even settle there. So, they would not forget the name “TANA” for such a beautiful location. It had a panoramic view, a balanced prairie, a river, and a forest too. From then on, they would always go back there to hunt until they decided to bring along their families. There, they would settle and live permanently, and they called the place “TANA.”
We envision Barangay Tana as one of the producers of rice and corn products in the Municipality of Amulung, with active, happy, and God-loving people and have a peaceful, safe and clean environment. Having a transparent, responsible, honest and competent Leaders.
To serve the people of Barangay Tana and its community to the fullest of our resources and abilities, and to work for the cooperation among the Barangay residents in the attainment of peace, honesty and progress.
