These faces were imbued in the lifestyle of a group of people who live 7 kilometers away east of Centro. This group of people settled in scattered pieces of land. These kaingin portions were grouped into puroks. Their means of livelihood were considered uncivilized agricultural techniques were not known. Their tool in raising were sharpened pieces of round wood or matured split bottles. Root crops growing was their major concertation a little corn and fruits and vegetable raising were also done, and fishing and animal hunting were done alternatively. There was no other dialect known to them except Ilocano and Aeta vocabularies. Despite this economic status, they have togetherness with cooperation, laughter, and joy were observed and implemented. With these, a monthly gathering among the neighboring purok was made. The purpose of which was to raise and solve problems among them. At the end of every gathering, a socialization was made. Thus, laughter and joy will be created. In one of their socialization, a talent portion of every purok was brought up. Every then joined, their purok member for selection as they were having their selection period, a group of American soldiers rushed in the place unnotedly, and then they scattered themselves among puroks. The people were amazed and frightened. In one of the puroks the American soldier asked “Are you by gangs?” nobody answered “Are you by gangs?” again the soldier asked and nobody answered “Are you by gangs?” the soldier asked again with a louder voice and with eyes big opened not with understanding. One of the members of the purok stood up and answered badly “awan-awan ti dakes nga ar-aramiden mi, agang angaw kami laeng” meaning to say nothing, nothing we are not making bad things. We are just making jokes with one another. A silence was observed between the people and the American soldiers. Not understanding one another, the Americans surrounded them later on the American soldiers got tired and they left the place marching with the gangs! Awan awan, gang awan gang awan.

            To this time, those memorable words joined together “GANGAUAN” the place of happy people.
