It came from the word “BUGBUGAYUNG”, a slender, perennial climber with long, pinnate-leafleted leaves that twines around trees, shrubs, and hedges. Due to mispronunciation of the word “BUGBUGAYUNG” to DUGAYUNG by the Spaniards, it then finally adopted the word “DUGAYUNG” to name the place.
Inspired and guided by the teachings of Christ, the constituents, as one, help and support each other to uplift the quality of life and holistic transformation of every individual despite of trials in all walks of like.
Dugayung, as one barangay in Amulung, Cagayan, advocates the transformation of its constituents to be responsible citizens of this community, municipality, municipality and country as whole.
