BRIEF HISTORY OF BARANGAY CARATACAT
During the olden times of the Spanish, this place was still covered with thick virgin forest and with green grasslands where wild animals abound. This Forest also is rich in nutritious snails, according to hearsay it was a joke, that when they collected or ate BISOKOL they called it CA-RA-TA-CAD. When they were used to it, some prominent men changed CA-RA-TA-CAD into CA-RA-TA-CAT for its elaboration.
As years went by people came to settle in this place and when there was enough population to form a barrio, it was finally and officially declared as the barrio of CARATACAT.
