Once upon a time, after World War II, a couple evacuated on our barangay. The man was an Ilocano and his wife as Tagala. On their arrival in our place, they saw a group of people conversing along the road. The Tagala ask an Ilocano woman “Ali ano ginagawa nila?” “Agtutungtung da” replied the Ilocano woman. Since then every time the Tagala saw people talking around she always says “tungtung”. The people combined the word “Ali and Tungtung” and named it to our barangay and that is how our barangay got its name. Barangay Alituntung was just a sitio of Pacac Grande before but in the year 1970, the population become bigger and the Barangay Council requested to the Municipal Council to separate it from the mother Barangay Pacac Grande. The request was approved and that’s the history of our Barangay.
